How many times during the day do you hear the word “mommy”? Sometimes I’m sure you’ve heard it enough times to drive you nuts. I can’t even go to the bathroom without my kids thinking that I’ve called a family meeting, if you’re a mom I know you can relate. The days of doing simple things without an audience, like curling my hair and even brushing my teeth are long gone, and most times I have little ones at my feet when doing my self-care routine. Maintaining a proper self-care routine while taking care of rambunctious toddlers can be difficult, but it’s important! Self-care has a bad reputation of being only bubble baths, candles, and face masks. Although those things are both nice and important, there are so many less glamorous but equally important tasks that you can’t forget about. Today I’m sharing a few wellness tips that should be done every day to help you look and feel your best, even if you’re short on time. The best part about all of this is that these tips don’t require much thought, which is perfect for busy moms who are already juggling a ton of different things.
Keep your smile bright
Your smile can truly transform your entire look and shape your face, which is why you should never skip over your oral health routine. You might not have noticed, but now more than ever, we are shown so many more advertisements for teeth whitening kits and services than ever before. It has a way of subconsciously making you want to bleach your teeth or even try veneers. However, both of those services are pretty costly, and you can still achieve a whiter, brighter, and healthier smile all from the comforts of your home. Crest toothpaste and mouthwash has been a staple in my house since I was a child still living with my parents, so naturally I still use it to this day. I’m big on sticking with a product that I know and love, especially when it comes to something as important as my smile. I start and end my days with Crest, because it gives my mouth a deep clean and it leaves my breath smelling minty fresh. I love stocking up on household products from Sam’s Club, because it allows me to cut down on the frequency of my grocery store trips, because I buy in bulk. Plus, right now save $5 when you buy any 2 Crest Toothpaste, Mouthwash, Oral-B Manual Toothbrush or Oral-B Floss products at Sam’s Club or online at www.samsclub.com. What I love about Crest Pro-Health Toothpaste is that it has the strong power to fight plaque and gingivitis while strengthening enamel and removing surface stains for a healthier, whiter smile all at the same time. I always pair my toothpaste with Crest Pro-Health Advantage Mouthwash, because it kills millions of germs for a healthier mouth and freshens breath. Last but not least, Oral-B CrissCross Toothbrushes get deeper into the teeth and gums to brush away 90% of the hard-to-reach plaque. One sure way to look and feel better is to keep your smile bright and beautiful.
Get Your Beauty Sleep
If I had my way, I would get anywhere from 9-10 hours of sleep every night, but between staying up late with my blog and waking up early with my kids that just isn’t the case. Truthfully there was a time during the newborn stage when I was so sleep deprived that my body actually started to hurt!
When I don’t get enough sleep the night before I feel groggy and tired all day, and I’m just not operating at my best self. It’s harder for me to stay focused, I rush through my morning beauty routine, and I all around feel like a shell of myself when I haven’t had enough rest. I know that it is tough to get a full 8 hour of sleep every night, but there are some ways to get better sleep by creating a well thought out sleep routine. Some ways to get more sleep include simple things like getting off of your phone 30 minutes to an hour before bedtime, and ONLY getting in the bed when you’re about to go to sleep. At the end of the day sleep is very important. Therefore, let’s make sure that we have enough of it, shall we?
Drink MORE & Eat BETTER
We all know that we should be drinking anywhere from 6-8 glasses of water each day, but do you always drink that much? As for me, I’m guilty of not always drinking as much water as I need to and when I’m not as hydrated as I should be, it shows. I’ve made it a habit to drink more water and by making small changes like adding lemon slices and drinking from a wine glass, I actually find myself more eager to reach for water instead of a soda or any other beverage. It’s amazing how something as small as drinking more water helps you feel more energized and makes your skin look like it’s glowing.
Another sure way to look and feel better is to eat better. When you fill your body up with healthy and more nutritious foods your entire body will thank you! If the saying “you are what you eat” has any truth to it, do you want to be a bunch of junk? I know I don’t, which is why eating more fresh fruits and vegetables play a huge role in your overall health. Did you know that there are even certain foods that you can eat to look better? I wrote about it in detail HERE. Check it out, because your waistline and your skin will thank you for it.
Workout Often
I’ve never been insanely active, and I have to force myself to work out, but one thing that I’ve learned is that working out not only helps me to look better but it truly helps me to feel better too. I remember back when I was planning my wedding I was so stressed out and didn’t even realize it. I went to my doctor and gave him a laundry list of my symptoms, and do you want to know what my doctor recommended? He recommended that I find ways to add more physical exercises to my everyday routine. I was shocked that working out was the remedy that he suggested, but I decided to give it a try and see if it helped. I started small by going for evening walks around the neighborhood and taking the stairs whenever I could to avoid the elevator. Before long I started focusing on getting in 10,000 steps per day and using my Apple Watch to track my progress. I didn’t think that something as simple as walking could help manage my anxiety, but to my surprise it did. I like to do my most strenuous activity for the day right before bedtime, because I usually sleep better that way. After all, when I work out I sleep better and when I sleep better I look and feel better. Do you see how it all ties together? Physical activity is crucial for your health and overall mood, because it triggers the release of endorphin hormones in your body. When released, endorphins make you feel naturally happier and active throughout the day.
Master The Law of Attraction
Once you open the door to the power of the law of attraction it will change your life forever. A few months ago I made the decision to start journaling and having nightly meditation each night. In the beginning I didn’t see a change and to be honest I didn’t even know if I were doing it right. Despite not seeing any immediate results I kept at it and within a few weeks I started to see subtle shifts of positive happenings in my life. It’s like they say after all, when you focus on the good the good gets better. Another thing outside of journaling and meditation that helped me to welcome more positivity into my life is reciting positive affirmations. I have a list of affirmations and bible scriptures taped onto my bathroom mirrors which helps me to keep good thoughts at the forefront of my mind. When you’re happy, practicing gratitude, and ushering in more goodness your entire outlook improves and you feel remarkably better.
If you’re a busy woman who never feels like you’re able to give your best everyday, try these tips out for the next 30 days and check back in and let me know how you feel.

When I don’t drink a lot of water, I can always tell because my skin just doesn’t glow… and that’s NOT the move lol.
