I’m a total product junkie when it comes to make up and skincare. It doesn’t matter if it’s high-end or drugstore; if it’s a great product I want it to be apart of my collection. Although I love trying new high-end products, there are quite a few inexpensive brands that produce high quality products at very affordable prices.
Slight disclaimer. There are tons of affordable makeup brands, but for this list specifically I chose to focus on brands with products under $10 that carry MULTIPLE items that I use on a regular basis. If you don’t see your favorite brand, it’s not because I don’t recommend it, it may just be that the products aren’t usually priced under $10 or that I don’t use two or more of their products on a consistent basis.
Let’s get started.
MAYBELLINE. What better brand to start this list off than Maybelline? Their Matte + Poreless foundation is my go to everyday foundation because it is lightweight but gives good coverage, all while keeping my face nice and matte. I also love their Fit Me Concealer because it is a great dupe to NARS Creamy Concealer for a fraction of the price. If you’ve never tried Maybelline’s foundation, they have a really cool foundation finder on their website to help you determine your shade. I’m in the shade 330 and it’s a perfect match. Their Master Chrome Highlighter is also a new favorite of mine.
BH COSMETICS. BH Cosmetics was one of the first makeup brands that I discovered online, and I still love them to this day. One thing that I love about BH Cosmetics is how their product quality over the years has improved tremendously, but their price point has remained the same. BH Cosmetics has just about everything that you could need from brush sets, makeup tools, palettes, and more.
NYX. I love the applicators and the consistency of the Butter Gloss and the Soft Matte Lip Creams from NYX. As of late, I’ve been reaching for one of those products when I want something simple on my lips that will still make a statement. I tried the Matte Lip Cream many years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. I love that the formula is moisturizing but matte at the same time. If you’re in the market for a new setting spray or cream contour, the Matte Finish Spray is amazing, and the Wonder Stick is a close dupe to the KKW Contour Sticks.
L.A. GIRL. It’s no secret that L.A. Girl has an amazing Pro Concealer, but they also have a few other high quality products like their brow pencil and their Shockwave Neon Liner. I love the neon liner, because I rarely wear black eyeliner on my waterline. I always opt for a bright color like white, yellow, and every so often teal.
COLOURPOP. Colourpop has gotten increasingly popular over the last few years, because of their multiple collections with well-known beauty gurus. I’ve lost count of how many lippies, eye shadows, and highlighter that I have from them, because with products starting as low as $4.55 (during flash sales) it’s hard to resist.
E.L.F. An oldie but goodie brand that is consistently getting better with time. E.L.F. brushes are surprisingly some of my favorite drugstore brushes. They have a great blush brush and complexion brush, and their stipple brush is great for ensuring a smooth foundation finish. E.L.F. also has some great skincare items as well and I love how minimal and sleek their packaging is.
Next time you go to the drugstore, try out one of these products and let me know what you think.
