There are few things more relaxing than a nice spa day.
I love pampering myself, but as a busy mom I don’t have the luxury of squeezing in a spa day very often. As moms, it’s so easy to put ourselves last, but every now and then it’s good to do something nice for yourself, even if you don’t have a lot of time to spare. If you don’t have the time to head to the spa, but you want to treat yourself for a fraction of the price then my DIY cucumber scrub is for you.
I love trying out new body care products, but while playing around with a few ingredients one day I learned that I could make my own body scrub with things I already had at home With a cucumber, lavender essential oil, sugar, and coconut oil I mixed together the most amazing body scrub! I have a variety of products that use cucumbers, because of the cool and calming effects that cucumbers have, and lavender is great for an added relaxing aroma. By adding sugar to your scrub you are adding the power to smooth away dead skin cells and make way for a new vibrant layer of skin. No scrub is complete without coconut oil to moisturize your skin and leave it glowing and smooth. If you have a cucumber, essential oils, sugar, and coconut oil then you’re all set to create your own DIY Cucumber Scrub. Let’s get started.
INGREDIENTS:
¾ Cup of Chopped Cucumber
7-10 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil
1 Cup White Sugar
¼ Cup of Liquid Coconut Oil
DIRECTIONS:
- Wash and slice the cucumber and place it to the side
- Put cucumber slices, sugar, a few drops of lavender essential oil, and coconut oil into blender
- Blend the mixture for about 50-55 seconds or until you reached your desired consistency
- Pour into a sealed jar or container and refrigerate until you’re ready to use it
If you can remember to keep your scrub chilled when not in use then you can expect to keep it for up to two weeks! If you are in need of a gentle scrub with an intoxicating scent, give this a try and let me know that you tried it in the comments below.
